So i figured I would start this thread as a way for everyone to share some favourite podcasts of theirs. I am always looking for new ways to fill up my commute on the train, so if anybody has anything interesting, please do share.

My favourite for the last few years has been Milton Rosenberg's Extension 720. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves history and politics. Milt has been doing this show from Chicago for decades, and has amazingly fascinating guests...always of the highest calibre in their respective fields....whether its scientists, historians, coin collectors or word-smiths. Everything is done in a distinguished and old-world tone that you don't often see these days...think of your grandfather telling war-stories.

I would recommend the history/literature shows more-so than the political ones, but they are nonetheless both great. He leans toward the right-wing side of the political spectrum, but in a very professional and respectful way (and i say that as someone who leans to the left).

Make sure to take a look at the audio archive....it has some of the best stuff.

Edit- I see I had just discovered KATG and didn't comment on it when I posted in the first link. It has since become my favorite podcast and second favorite message board community. Outstanding show, if you're looking for something that will make you laugh.

The only one I really listen to is the Ricky Gervais show, but I've mentioned that many times. I also tune in I suppose, to the LOST podcast during the shows' season.

If you like comedy, check out:

Scam School from Revision3 is an awesome video podcast that shows puzzels and tricks to win drinks at the bar.

My favorites would be:
  • Stop Podcasting Yourself - a couple of comedians from Vancouver. It's my favorite podcast right now
  • The Ricky Gervais Show
  • The Lost podcast (during the season)
  • Jordan, Jesse, Go (funny though I find they come off pretty smug sometimes
  • The Hour

Ba Da bump.

Sweet thread!
I just went through about 20 episodes of Dan Carlin's Hardcore History while working over the last couple of weeks. I love it. He's really enthusiastic about his material, gives contemporary parallels to historical events and is quite entertaining.

IF I ever get my stoopid 'puter back from Apple, I will be getting some of the above mentioned shows for sure.

Oh, and a good Video podcast was Baz Lurhman's 'set to screen' . In it he goes through the different components of movie making, from sound to lighting to you-get-the-picture, ha. I really enjoyed the sound episode.

Has anyone found other podcasts?

Apparently I can't thank posts that were written before the thanks feature was introduced, so this post is a thanks for introducing me to something awesome. Well done, T5.
