No bodies kinda limits the options though.

It's only a matter of time before they find the remains.

What a sad story.

Man Vader was a bad ass when even family members are afraid of him and wanted him kept in jail.

What a loser. Just by looking at his face, l can tell he is guilty. I feel horrible for that family should he be the one responsible...

Hopefully Judge Sal what's-his-face isn't the judge presiding over this case (they 'judge' who let off that Chechnyan woman).

as per the article "he is a good guy who gets into the occasional scrap" - how many 40 year olds get into schoolyard fist fights - hey buddy way to make a positive contribution to your community!!!!

if he did it, hopefully he mans up and tells the authorities where the bodies are to give the family some closure.

Anyways, I personally think he's guilty and deserves life in prison.

was talking to a guy today who knew Vader from a rig, not sure where... anyhow, apparently the guy was a loose cannon when he was sober, let alone when he got into the sauce...

very sad if true.

He was arrested on outstanding warrants.....so I doubt the po-po have enough evidence yet to arrest him formally. This probably just keeps him from running

I was not aware that it was Vader's family who's house burned down on christmas in 2004 just to have people from everywhere donate to their christmas tragedy. Simpsons style.

Police have re-arrested him in connection to the McCann case.

The Crown had stayed first-degree murder charges against Vader in March and had one year to re-activate the case.

Anyone know where he was arrested? I live in Edson, right close to where this all went down. Lots of people from around here related to, or know him. I hope they've got sufficient evidence this time if in fact he is guilty.

I believe the news on Global said at home, without incident? I was only half listening when it came on as breaking news. Don't quote me though.

I'm not sure where home is anymore. I thought he was heading to BC when he got released. Just wondering if he was still in this area. There was rumours a while back of RCMP checkstops looking for him.

I have loosely followed this case over the years. At this Im not sure if I think Vader is the right guy or not.
The RCMP bungled certain aspects of this case early on including not immediately following up leads of the deceased couple's SUV being spotted being driven in BC.
I am not a cop hater so thats not my angle on this. You don't have to dig deep to see a lot of bad work by the RCMP in BC and Alberta over the past decade. Is it possible they have a hardon for Vader for some reason other than the evidence we've seen? I don't know.
Vader was kept in jail for four years while the nine fire arm and drugs charges unrelated to the murder made their way through court. He was found not guilty on all nine. Is the RCMP overzealous with this guy?

Vader does seem like a loose cannon. His own father has come and made comments to that effect. One thing that doesn't make sense is if he did kill them, then it was likely a crime of opportunity rather than being premeditated where he chose them and stalked them. Its likely he saw them at the gas station for the first time and decided to rob them. It seems strange then that there was no physical evidence left anywhere and that Vader couldn't be tied conclusively in any way to the crime. It seems odd that this loose cannon that may have snapped and killed them if they fought back or said something he didn't like was then able to dispose of the bodies and all evidence, burn the RV and SUV, and not leave anything behind.

I have no doubt Vader is a bad guy who has done bad things but Im not convinced he committed this murder.
