Shoot. I keep forgetting Derek Morris.
Also, I think I know who Cecil Terwilliger will vote for...

Points is obviously not the best way to measure a D-man, but for interest sake I looked at how many times a guy was the D scoring leader or runner up.
Those who were in the top 2 multiple times:
MacInnis lead the team 7 times and was runner-up 4 times
Suter 3-4
Housley 5-0
Phaneuf 4-0
Giordano 3-3
Reinhart 3-2
Morris 2-3
Wideman 2-0
Lydman 1-2
Rautakillio 1-1
JayBo 1-1
Brodie 0-2
Eloranta 0-2
Zalapski 0-2
Aucoin 0-2

These polls could be called "How Old are You?" because no way Suter and Regehr were better players than Reinhart, IMO.

I went with Reinhart as well. Unfortunately he's probably before a lot of peoples time here, and will not get the love he deserves. Was tough to see him play for Vancouver in the '89 series, and he def played that entire series with a chip on his shoulder. I'm looking at his stats and forgot how much injuries plagued him throughout his career. Did he retire after the 89-90 series due to injuries? Or was there something else?

It was partly injuries. But I recall reading at the time that Reinhart made a medium-sized killing on penny stocks on the old Vancouver exchange, and didn't need to play hockey for money anymore. He had already missed a lot of time due to nagging injuries, and the money made it easier to decide to pack it in. (This was back when the average NHL salary was about $200,000, so he wasn't going to become a millionaire by playing the game.)

Rhino as a lot closer to a 3rd winger than a D. (In my memories of him, at least.)

If Reinhart played today he'd be known as having one of the top hockey IQs in the game.
But i'm surprised at the results thus far. I had it between Rienhart and McCrimmon.

Went with Housley but that's based on history rather than seeing him play.
Jay Bouwmeester's presence on this poll offends me.

I thought I recalled Reinhart being a forward a few times, but I wasn't sure. He was fast as heck, that is probably the thing I remember about him the most.

Weren't Reinhart's knees so bad that he regularly missed practice during his time in Vancouver? I seem to remember that he was pretty much playing only (no practice) at the end of the 89-90 season. But was still a force on the PP.

How the heck is Kari Eloranta on the list ahead of dmen like Derek Morris, Tony Lydman and Jordan Leopold. Heck I would put Neil Sheehy, Charlie Bourgeois and Terry Johnson ahead of Eloranta. Bourgeois for being a part of the package that returned Joey Mullen, Sheehy for driving Gretzky bat #### crazy, and Johnson for being rock solid in the 86 playoff upset over the Oilers.

Reinhart's back was his big injury problem. He didn't regularly play forward but he was amazingly skilled and as mentioned, fantastic hockey IQ. I love Regehr but Reinhart more well rounded IMO.

Terry Johnson played all of 24 regular season games for Calgary.
As for Morris, already said I forgot him by mistake. It's literally in the first reply to this thread. I'll add those you mentioned in tomorrow's poll.
