Sizzling Wok.. R.I.P. we love you forever..
I have the biggest craving for some of their satay and singapore noodles right now. I've tasted at least 50+ variations in Calgary, Phoenix and all over north america. NOTHING comes even close. I could drink a liter of their peanut sauce right now..
Why did they close down on 12th Ave?? why?
I would pay $1000 for their recipe right now.. shut up and take my money!!
R.I.P. Sizzling Wok you will be remembered

Didn't they close down a long time ago?
I actually know the girl whose parents owned the place.

Yeah, they closed quite a few years ago now.
Long lost restaurant thread from 2006 here - http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showthread.php?t=27602
However, I believe they were closed a couple years before that.

you knew her? Wow, small world. I knew the family well (family friends). The boyfriend was also well known, but for a different reason. more infamous reason.
Also, he crashed one of their cars one time, then debated which car to drive the next day.

I think I know who you are referring to. Because that boyfriend would probably be me.
She had awesome gams.

Also, the restaurant closed down not because of failure, but because of mismanagement. My dad was going to take over, but decided against it cause it seemed like a huge headache.

Just get really drunk, have a friend take you or pick you up Panda Express, and you won't even know the difference
And I mean REALLY drunk, possibly high

he's infamous to the older generation. There are some things wei can bring it up himself if he wants to (since he is here), but because of this one thing the older folks at the association I used to belong to talk about him a lot.

If it is the same place I am thinking of I was there pre Wizzling sock, I was there when it was The Derby, and then every iteration inbetween.
