Went with Joly, if he can stay healthy he looks very promising.

Really don't know much about these kids, but I went with Joly also. Seems like he could have the tools. Hopefully he will turn out to be one of our late round gems!

Sticking with Lindstrom. I was impressed with his game in the WJC and the fact that he spent time on the top line and powerplay for a Swedish national team speaks to his talent level. I haven't followed his pro career much, but the views of one of his SHL coaches is encouraging.

It was surprising how useful Linus was. We used him on the powerplay, the penalty kill, in all scenarios. Lindstrom matured a lot from junior. He has always had skills in the offensive zone, but his defensive skills were a big surprise. He still needs to work on his size, but his overall abilities are very promising.

This list gets ugly pretty fast. But having no high draft picks in a year will do that to you.

This is a total pick'em but I went with my gut.
Filip Sveningsson.
I like that he's been a prolific scorer at every level and got into some SHL games as a 19 year old. He's a 7th round pick but don't let that fool you. I think he's developing nicely and has just as good a shot at the NHL as anyone left on the board.
I also considered in this group:
Eetu Tuulola
Linus Lindstrom
Hunter Shinkaruk
Milos Roman

I really hope we don't trade any picks this year unless we end up in the top 6-8 teams at the deadline. We need to refill the talent pool, it looks pretty thin.
Went with Joly, I like his blend of size and skill, and I also liked seeing that he put up some impressive point totals despite a couple injuries that kept him out for long spells in the season.

Interesting to see the Joly support, but I'm really wary of any players from the Q that don't score at a breakneck pace. That league has pretty inflated numbers for most players and most players come out of that league not knowing how to play defense.

Shinkurak for me...wouldn't be crazy to think he gets a call-up this year if injuries hit. In the minimum, he's a scoring forward in the AHL with draft pedigree. Probably more than we can realistically hope for, for most of the remaining prospects left on the board.

Went Sveningsson. He was singled out by Conroy early, and it looks like his talent level is still growing.

Went off the board with Zavgorodniy.
I am intrigued by his high draft ranking vs where the Flames picked him and I liked what I saw from him in the development scrimmage.
I have seen little of most of the names on the board and the ones I have seen I don't see much hope with the Flames. Shinkaruk is likely the best bet on the board but it seems the Flames have moved on from an NHL perspective.

At this point it's a game of "who has the coolest name" because the remaining list is a little grim.
