So here is the story. I have been trying to sell my Jeep for a couple of weeks now. I listed it in the Auto Trader, and immediatly I started getting calls from different websites asking if I wanted to advertise with them. Most of them cost between $150 - $200. I seriously have been called by 6 or 7 of them.

Well, today I get a call from Global Auto Registry. The lady says that they are basically a finance company that finds cars for people, and she has a buyer for my vehicle. Here is the catch - I have to pay $350 for their services. It sounds sketchy to me.

I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this place or has any good/bad experiences?

I've heard stories about this type of deal before...only with different company names.

Its not so much of a scam as a really shady deal.

If they do not sell your car you have a hell of a time getting your money back.

SCAM SCAM SCAM.. I always tell those people to eat sh*t.. This one guy got all defensive when I told him it reeked of a scam.. Its almost impossible to get the $$$ back..

Its BS. Dont do it. Once you pay them they'll clarify that they have "many buyers" looking for "that kind of vehicle". Totla crap. Nobody buys a car over the internet unless its an auction or a vintage car. For an everyday vehicle stick to the regular process of bargain finder and auto trader.

Dont do it, I got called from a place called Canadian Auto Finder and they said the same thing, except it was a little cheaper $150, they gauranteed that they would find someone to buy or I would get my money back after 90 days. Took about 6 months to finally get my money after I called the BB and the media.

Never got a call on my vehicle in the first 3 months, but I still get calls almost a year later (they keep vehicles on thier website to make sure that they have an inventory), even though I told them many times to take my vehicle off.

List your car for free on Kijiji, I got more calls there then I did on autotrader, and I sold it a week after listing.

"UsedCalgary.com" is a free site like "Kijiji". I bet it gets more traffic than "Kijiji" does. Like with "Kijiji", you can see how many people have viewed your ad.
