CanadianAutofinder
Just a little heads up for anyone who is trying or will be selling a vehicle in the near future.
We received a call from Canadianautofinder when we were advertising our truck in the Autotrader. The short story is that they promised to refund your $150 fee if you did not sell your vehicle after 90days. We went to check out their website and called a few of the people with vehicles listed and thought everything would be ok.
Well I guess seeing as both my wife and I can be suckers sometimes we decided to go with them. After the 90days had passed (without getting a single inquiry, which we had tons from the autotrader) we applied for our money back. After almost 5 months of bitching and complaining and calling 3 times a week, filing a BBB report and contacting Tony Tighe we finally received our money back.
Funny thing is through this whole process our vehicle stayed on their website (8 months) and we still never received one phone call.
Just thought I would throw my experience out there in case there are a few more gullible people like us.

Yeah I remember getting a call from these guys when I was selling a car a few years back. They must just go through the autotrader and call everyone.
I didn't go for it after I checked their site, at the time there was almost nothing on it.

There have been a few stories on the news about these guys. Lots of people are having trouble getting their money back.

Really?
I just googled them, and after their own listing:
CanadianAutoFinder.ca RIPOFF, WASTE OF MONEY, DONT BECOME THEIR NEXT VICTIM!!! Calgary Alberta
Beware of canadianautofinder.ca/com when selling your car!
But it is always great to give guys like this the bad publicity they deserve. The more people post stuff like this, the fewer people will be caught in the future.
BTW: apparently they also change their name frequently, so maybe there wasn't any info on them when they initially contacted you.

There was another on Ripoff reports that say they are known to have at least 2 other names.
I think I saw a report by Tony Tigh (or it was Leah Williams-Doherty at CFCN, I can't recall) - was that you, too?

yea didnt they use to go by greatcarsandtrucks.com or something similar to that. They had mulitple websites dedicated to the fruads and problems people had with them maybe they took on a new name to get away from that. If you ever check out any of there listings or trying calling a few youll quickly find out some vechiles were sold over a year ago, no help to there magazine.

It wasn't recent, that's for sure. I don't really recall. But as soon as I read your description of what happened I remembered hearing about the same thing.
