Using year-old evaluations for D+1 players, to try and downplay more current evaluations, is either trolling or naive. And based on the poster-in-question's penchant for wanting to claim he's the smartest person in the room, we can presumably eliminate naivity.

June wasn't a year ago. Also, you spelled naivety wrong. Back to grade 7 for you.

Multiple historic seasons for young players justifies hype everywhere but in Calgary.

Jesus dude, that's like the 10th post this week where you're openly denigrating other posters. You sure know how to make friends.
Like, honest question for you, did something really bad happen in your life lately or are you always this much of a dick?
What I find ironic is that you were ranting the other day about how I was looking down my nose at other people. Every accusation is a confession. Time for some self-reflection before you alienate the entire board.

All I know about Corey Pronman is I rarely see anyone speak positively of his rankings or scouting analysis. Usually, I see him spoken of derisively or as someone controversial at best. But regardless, appealing to the authority of the mainstream media's analysis, in 2026, while dismissing bloggers, is like 10-15 years behind the times, the dinosaurs lost that argument, we've incorporated fancy stats into normal hockey stats now. The independent "blogs" are where the good work is being done.

The funny thing is it wasn't too long ago that Pronman was part of the blogger-verse, and trying to earn respect v. traditional reporting. Now it seems like he's considered more main stream and others are the bloggers?

Reminds me of a little bit ago when a poster (I think Rhett44) said he values the opinions of professionals like Mike Gould more than other posters here

He's worked for ESPN and the Athletic so mainstream for a while now. What's weird about him is the 180 he's done over the years as when he was with ESPN he was all about skill regardless of size (ranked Drouin over MacKinnon) and now he's all about size with skill. Back in the day he would have been salivating over guys like Parekh and Lane Hutson and today he's basically writing them off as powerplay specialists. The happy medium is likely in the middle but he seems like a guy that sees things through extreme lenses only.

I don't disagree. I think he got burned by being wrong by a number of undersized guys, particularly dmen, and has over-corrected.
Wheeler is the other way. He doesn't appreciate size still matters sometimes.
But the best thing, and what I enjoy about them the most, is the debates between the two. Lists and mocks are easy to consume, but I get the most value from the dialogue.
