Very quiet throughout the tourney. Didn't show a lot of dynamic skill. Which he will need at his size.

Yeah, in Penticton I had to look up his number on the roster to find him. Yager popped and was very noticeable in the first game the Flames played. I was expecting something similar from Savoie being older and a 9th overall, but he was invisible.

The Sabres have a stable of young, talented forward prospects who have all progressed more than Savoie. Kulich has been lighting it up. Benson stuck in the NHL after his first camp. Quinn will be given an opportunity as a top-six forward. Ostlund and Rosen both leapfrogged Savoie. Helenius was tagged as one of the more NHL ready forwards in his draf. It’s not at all surprising that they moved on from Savoie.

Sometimes when a team moves a prospect it's because of something they see, and not a "hey do you want the guy that we think is going to be great?!"

Especially if the deal isn't done for a rental or a huge piece for a playoff run, and instead a middle six forward with wheels.

It definitely seems a little high right now. Especially looking at what most UFA D went for in the offseason.

That said, it's better to overpay your youth to lock them up long term. OTT did great on Sanderson. In the meantime, I bet EDM is regretting bridging Bouchard, and DAL will regret bridging Harley.

Reminder that's the pick they got from Vancouver as part of the OEL trade.
