Born and raised in south Regina (Albert Park) so I'm biased to the south end.

Albert Park is mostly large two story or split levels built in the 60s-70s. Land around there is pretty solid. The further south you go the newer the houses.

Whitmore Park is about the same age, slightly newer. Watch the houses on the south end as that area of Whitmore is marsh land and people have basement issues.

Hillsdale is an area I also lived in and really liked. It's close to the university, has some well kept houses and close to Wascana park.

The area around Leopold Crescent has some awesome old houses if you like those.

For new areas Emerald Park out the east end of town has big houses and yards. There are a heap of new areas out there I don't know given I haven't been there for 10 years so I defer to Log on those.

I do know housing isn't as cheap as you would expect. My bro-in-law just sold his house in Hillsdale for nearly 300k (granted, the house would be double that here is a crappy area) but gone are the days of getting a big house in Regina for 150k.

It's not as bad a city as people make it out to be. the only really ugly thing is the winter can be nasty for a couple months. It's of course 8-9hrs to the mountains, but it's quick to a few lakes. I can think of worse places to live.

If you need an investment advisor there I have a friend who's aces.
