The more we see him at this level, the more its apparent that he is not ready for full time duty yet.
Keep him around to play on occasion, practice with them full time and work with him to improve his weaknesses.
Hope he improves his body mass and deficiencies over the summer and see if he is good enough come camp. If not, then it should not surprise when he is assigned to the Wranglers.
