Well firstly when they traded Markstrom, they should have also dealt all three of Kadri, Coleman, and Andersson. I would have easily taken less returns for Anderson (1st + Hague was tossed around last off season and would have got about that for him)
You can manage your roster down the standings by removing certain pieces. Would they have over performed, sure that’s possible but they would have almost certainly finished in the bottom 10 which is where you could have had the ability to draft any of the centers including Misa although I would have taken Schaefer if picking 1st.
It’s frustrating watching this team drag things out, like even this year until they lost a few in January, I think they were going to push it right to the deadline again and probably stand pat if they were still in it. At least we have something to show for Anderson even though we would have got similar two years ago.
