It’s just so sad a large group of people has become this delusional, This same group of people are basically MAGA folks and are so unable to see that it’s the guy they admire who has caused this global disturbance. Of course the overlap is also almost perfectly aligned with the separatist minded idiots as well.
As for this deal, we can’t just sit around and wait for the benevolancy of the US anymore, those days are over. We have to look after our national economic interests and this appears to do that without a ton of risk.
Heck even Danielle smith supports it although she put a dig in about protecting national security and privacy regarding the ev’s. She should probably have just as much concern or more with Tesla to be honest.

The thing is, it’s people like Danielle Smith who are the problem. Canada already had those vehicles coming here a few years ago, and a bunch of them are Teslas! So they have no real issue, and are just irritating in their opposition.
But the other main point I wanted to make is that these same people who are upset about this and doing a deal with “communist China”, also are rabidly in favour of a pipeline to sell oil to China! Like sure, we can’t trust them enough to buy some cars made there, but we should definitely spend $50b on a pipe to send them resources and we should do that tomorrow. What a great trade policy that is.
