I wonder if it would make sense for Detroit to explore a move for someone like Rasmus Andersson, or possibly a forward such as Nazem Kadri or Blake Coleman. All three would bring experience and would be a boost for the playoffs, and Detroit appears to have the assets to make something like that happen if they choose to be aggressive.

Detroit should have pushed hard for Andersson in the 2024 offseason and should be interested now.
The main issue now is Yzerman won't want to trade for a rental.
I really hope as it gets closer to the deadline that Andersson maybe becomes more opening to talking extension with some teams.
