I think your needs are in a weird spot. Many 32" televisions seem to be old stock or old parts or something since they're 720p or 1080p. 40"+ you're in 4K territory, but there's a huge range of budget to performance from a $200-1200 price point in that size range.

$550-600 should be more than enough for a decent TV for your needs.
