Zayne is a great player, playing under bad circumstances (coaching-imposed, probably part of a plan). Once the coaching gets off his back and he gets to play his game, you’ll see.
Right now he’s playing timid because he’s clearly being coached (and over-coached, likely) to keep his game simple. His game isn’t simple, and he shouldn’t be playing this way.
It’s a small, small sample size but these first few games of Zayne’s utilization is a knock on the coaching staff in my eyes.

He’s a boy playing against men though. You can see he has talent that no one else has. But other teams are going to start running him every chance they get after tonight. He’s physically under developed because of his age. Teams are going to take advantage of that.
