He's right on the main point that it's a bad idea though. Especially for a goalie who becomes a starter at 23, as Wolf did, which for a goalie is on the earlier side. Look at the guy in the other net on Thursday - Demko became a full time starter at age 26, and despite only playing 60+ games once, has broken down in multiple ways. He's probably a bit of an outlier because he's always had hip problems, but the same does happen to a lot of goalies. Wear and tear is a real thing, unless you're Marc Andre Fleury, and there's a decent argument even in his case that his regular workload was a detriment to the quality he could give you each year.

Since Wolf is only 6 feet, that probably helps him with wear and tear on joints a bit compared to the 6'3"+ guys, but it's still a long road at a very demanding position and the difference between starting 50 games a season and 60+ is huge. Save those higher-workload seasons for years when the team is a contender IMO.
