I know he can be sent down without issue and play big minutes in the AHL.
But I think you have to reward the kid for doing everything asked of him and then some by keeping him on the opening night roster.
You have to show guys that putting in the work does pay off, it’s a huge opportunity for the staff to show all the young guys what’s possible.
I know he’s waiver exempt and would be the easy out at this point, but I see no reason to not give him what he’s rightfully earned.
You can always send him down before 10 games if he starts to struggle at the start.
This is a fantastic story, even better than Honzek making it last year.
