Are you saying the people that voted for Harper that weren't extreme are extreme today because they support the same party? Trudeau spent nearly his entire tenure bringing up Harper's name but less than a year out of office and we can no longer blame Trudeau for the state of the country? Like I said before it's all binary today which makes it hard to reason with people on either side of the political spectrum.

Harper did a good job of holding the extreme right back in the party; but they were always there. The PCs did the same for time - leading to a breakaway party of nutjobs that were later brought back in and given the keys.
