I think the editorial stance of the Globe and Mail, which is a legit journalistic institution and Canada's paper of record, to be more interesting.
The editorial group there seems to be avoiding calling it a genocide, white-washes the war crimes, continues to push the "what about Hamas" narrative, and is actually taking a critical stance against Canada's recognition of Palestine.
Possibilities:
1) wants to limit impacts of genocide coverage to limit anti-Semitism in Canada
2) Government is asking them to be quiet
3) Thompson family doesn't want to get into conflict vis-a-vis trump, clients and/or investors
It's very curious what's going on there
