Oilers free up cap space, but they also lose one of their only productive secondary forwards who is actually tailored to playoff hockey (even if he takes way too many stupid penalties). They'll probably end up bringing in someone even worse to replace him.

Honestly I think losing Kane is addition by subtraction for the Oilers. He had some production but some games he is a total non factor too. Or worse.
