I get your opinion/point. Where I’m coming from is -If the plan is to trade him he may have more value at the deadline. He will be in a contract year, he has great incentive to perform for his next contract. The organization in this scenario prays he over performs, and increases his value leading up to the deadline. Personally, I’d rather have 16 playoffs teams bidding on him over 31 non-playoff teams (at this moment.) I think the returns would be higher due to the premium demand.
