I'd agree.
He won't lose money if he takes a two-year in EDM until 30/31, because he'll still be considered the same caliber of player then.
He may wind up making more by going 2 years at a record-breaking AAV, then signing for even higher on the open market then, as opposed to going 8 in Edmonton and commanding much less value at 36 or whatever it would be.
And he can also get out of EDM before the roof caves in on them.
