I have no issue with going after top talent like Marner. Where the Flames always got themselves into trouble was going after less than top talent. Guys like James Neal, Troy Brouwer, etc...
I know that Marner lacks a hard edge, but he's an offensive force. I don't see him becoming a 60 point player on the Flames. The Flames have enough of an edge already, and they need that top offensive talent. There's very few players that are putting up over a PPG and have that playoff edge. Mark Stone comes to mind. A team should be surrounding a player like Marner, with the Colemans and Kadris.
