The second goal had some luck involved for sure but a lot of the time we do see these wrap-around goals go in even if the player can't curl it all the way in. Normally it's off the goaltender who's trying to come over to make the save but also sometimes off a defender. There are certainly a lot move flukier goals in hockey. Plus like you said, it was hell of a move to begin with.
