Sure, Skinner sucks and it's hilarious, and the Kings won by a big margin last night when they should have won by a couple of goals. But the Oilers still suck. Systemically. McDavid is incapable of being a complete player. His laziness and defensive irresponsibility bleeds through to the whole roster. He's a loser.

This is an underrated post.
Watching the GM 2 highlights, I was like: "Which of these goals was Skinner supposed to stop?" Goaltending may be part of the problem, but the main issue is (and for a long time has been) the Oilers' refusal to commit to any sort of defensive structure.
Just look at Nurse/Bouchard on Byfield's goal. Or that Kings' PP goal where the guy slam-dunks it in from the blue paint. Even on the floater GWG in GM 1, the Kings' fwd beats a "backchecking" Draisaitl into the zone by a country mile.
Skinner may not be great, but the team "defence" in front of him is DEFINITELY...
