Andrew Chang has a good piece recently uploaded that talks about the economic fallout and it sounds like it could be significant.

Good video and almost therapeutic to watch. I had my doubts that people would actually boycott travel, but this is good to see. Wife and I took a Vegas trip for her bday in February a few weeks after Trudeau's press conference. I felt guilty AF for us going, but the trip was non-refundable and my wife had waited for her American visitor visa for almost 2 years and was super excited to go for the first time.
The check-in line at the airport was still full, but almost an uneasy feeling standing there. I imagine most were also on the same non-refundable Expedia package we had. We had a blast in LV, but also understand that we definitely won't be going back any time soon, not even to transfer to a flight to Europe. We discussed it's a pity we wasted the $250 fee for her visa application, but it's the principle of it.
It won't even be enough for me to return
if the US has another election and a Democrat president wins and sweeps both the Senate and House. That's not good enough, not when in 4 years we get to play this game again. I'll be ready to consider a return when someone there actually shows some ####ing balls and proceeds to put Trump where he belongs. Not just Trump, but those surrounding him that have made this entire fiasco possible. I never want to hear another AG whine to the press that " a bad precedent will be set" if we imprison a president. Other countries can do it. Few are more deserving than Donald.
