There was nothing from the 3-2 goal that would have suggested those guys needed a reset. I doubt there was a single fan that said "Call a timeout" when the play was stopped after the 3-2 goal.
It's Easy to say after the fact but if he calls a timeout and they still score to make it 3-3 still then people will say he panicked after the 3-2 goal and the timeout made the team nervous.

Well maybe a professional hockey coach is paid to identify when his team is rattled and do something about before giving up the goals that likely ended their season.
