I recently went through the frustrating process of renewing my firearms licence, which has to be renewed every 5 years, to ensure that my hunting guns could not be taken away from me. After struggling to get the right application, making numerous phone calls with a number of RCMP officers, and dealing with the postal strike, I finally received my licence. My guns were a present from my late wife, and hold great sentimental value. I have owned my guns for over 50 years, and I hope to pass them down to my children when I die.
This legislation wastes a lot of time, money and resources without any real benefit. The above officers could have been more effectively used in preventing the recent incident in Nova Scotia resulting in 22 people killed by a man dressed up in an RCMP uniform.

This is a complete non-issue. I also recently renewed my PAL. Took me all of 40 minutes online and received my new one three weeks later. Easy peasy.
As for “requiring a license to own a firearm is ludicrous”? That’s a simply ludicrous take.
