I feel like whatever you’re arguing, which isn’t super clear what it is, is not being done so in good faith if you can’t think about some differences between Canada and China’s respective positions.

Oh, absolutely there are differences between their positions, but the same fate that befell Canada and Mexico this weekend is what China has been dealing with for years already. And they have an extremely powerful competitive advantage with respect to producing goods since their labor costs are so minimal. Morally wrong or not is a different argument.
Emotional responses can be good or bad. I can’t control mine. I cry a lot even when people instruct me not to…(?) But that’s why you have a group of people in a room. Think it through. Is banning orange juice truly going to make your life better, or is it a political display?
Don’t get into an economic war with the USA. Wait this out and build infrastructure to expand your options. Punishing Canadian consumers because Donald Trump is crazy is crazy itself.
