Thing is success in the NHL is a pretty fine line so it can go both ways.
The best teams in the NHL generally have around 55% xGF and the worst generally have 45% xGF. So it's generally a toss up.
I'm not sure I see a bottom 5 pick as long as Wolf is healthy and playing 55 games (you have to be BAD to pick bottom 5) but the difference between 6th OV pick and where the Flames sit now is .470 vs .573 that difference season to season isn't that remarkable.
Much like this year I expect it will be a team that could be picking anywhere from 6th OV to 18th OV or something like that, and think I said something similar to that coming into this season too.
