Aside from face-offs, I think Ryan is probably a downgrade on Rooney at this point, and I think Rooney has been having an awful season. Slower, weaker, smaller.. Yes, Face-offs are very important, but that's all Ryan will be giving.
I would rather swing back on Pospisil to the C on the 4th line, and run with that for the rest of the season. See how he acclimates. Zary sounds like he will be back this season - push Kerins to the 4th line and let him work on his speed, defensive acumen and face-off abilities there. Heck, I would rather the Flames recall Hunt or Bishop and give them a reward for being outstanding vets down on the Wranglers - will make it easier to re-sign good vets like these in the future.
Really hope that Calgary doesn't claim Ryan.

Aside from the fact he'd see it as a demotion, Pospisil would make a good 4th line centre, depending on his FO ability improving. And he really hasn't been doing much on the Kadri line lately.
They can also move Pelletier back to the middle on the 4th line, especially when Zary returns.
