I think 90% of CP trade
rumors are a collection of posters that love to dream up trade proposals speaking ideas into existence. Then in the following days and weeks the fan proposal turns to "rumored return" when posters forget or didn't know the original discussion was simply "what do you think we could get from team A? And then we're off to the races.
I still remember following the Markstrom drama last season. Our rumors here had hints of legit info, but over time you could see the rumors morph into "what we want to happen" to the point where many were convinced we were not only getting New Jerseys 10th OV pick but that we should pump the brakes on giving them too much for it along with Markstrom.
