Calgary is a great place to live, that’s not the discussion though and it may not mean anything to a certain percentage of players or people. You know what other City’s consistently rank high on those surveys? Toronto and Vancouver. That said, I know, personally as I’m sure you do as well, many people who wouldn’t have much of an appetite to live there.

Interesting you point out Coleman here. He has trade protection and I would bet trade protection was a negotiated part of his contract. If the Flames didn’t include it, they certainly would have had to add term and/or dollars and even if they did, Coleman may have signed with another team that did offer him trade protection.
