I get the allure of making the playoffs but picking top ten and 20+ is a significant difference. Most quality centers are gone first round most in the top twenty which is also the position we need most.
This is the year to crap out. And this year is probably the lowest we pick for many years as i see the trajectory if the team only getting better.
Scoronato, wolf, zary, and bahl who is turning into a bit of a gem are only going to get better. We will be adding at least one talented youngster to the roster and if we can snag a young nhl center this team will be good. Teade Anderson who i think has hit his peak Use the cap space and picks to snag another top four in the offseason and this team will be seriously competitive.
I just see this as the last year we bottom out. Get into the top ten and use our piles of draft capital to get mqueen, frondell, or misa (most mocks have him anywhere from one to five)
That would be my approach. I see this ways the same as the red mile run. False sense of how good the team is, and management is going to fall for it again.
