Vladar is worth maybe a 3rd - he's a pending UFA goalie in a market that isn't great for people moving goalies right now. Seravelli was on 960 yesterday and said even a 3rd might be tough at this point as the goalie market dried up a bit.

I love Pelletier but he's a guy who cleared waivers earlier this year, he's likely not worth much more than a 3rd in a trade and his value isn't close to a 1st anymore.

Wright is a 21 year old former 4th overall pick that has played at a 20 goal, 41 point pace during his last season and a bit of NHL games.

Maybe it's a 2nd instead of the 1st but I do think another asset would be needed on the Flames side and I think it would have to be the 1st.
But the value of taking Grubauer is massive.

Exactly. More than $8.3M in a buyout, or $11.8M over the next two seasons, if they don't buy him out. Even though the value of cap space has come down significantly, you're not getting another team to take that much money/space off your hands without a lot of consideration. I would argue that is still worth a 1st and 2nd, or at the very minimum, 2 2nds.

So the cost of Wright would be 1st + 2nd + Vladar (2nd-3rd) + Pelletier (2nd-3rd). Combining Vladar and Pelletier to the equivalent of a 2nd + 3rd, and you get:

1st + 2nd + 2nd + 3rd

That seems plenty for Wright. Throwing in another 1st is too much.
