Id say the mandate from the coaches up is play to win. Don't instill a losing culture. Obviosuly win enough = playoffs. What do you expect him to say? "We want you guys to go out and give it your all every night, but try and lose cause we want to pick top 3 in the draft Go get 'em guys"
