I got a Lennox furnace from the early 50's in a rental house. I can't even recall when the last service was or anything wrong. Whenever I have had ATCO Gas or other heating contractors out, they get excited to see these old ones. They burn more obviously but the overall costs of repair/replacement are far lower.

Have you had the heat exchanger inspected regularly? Cracked heat exchangers on old furnaces is a very common end mode of failure and it can lead to carbon monoxide in your house.
