The Carbon tax was done for that specific purpose, Canada really is not really some sort of environmental leader globally. This was being sold as some magic answer when in reality it was a poor policy. The person who will most likely lead the Liberal Party going forward, Mark Carney, who has massive economic clout thinks it's got to go.

I will be a very harsh Pierre critic, despite a friendly relationship with his family on a personal level. I will wait to judge him on how well he does when in an actual governing position. He will need to make major changes from his tone once in government but we will see. Personal prediction is that he won't have the staying power unless he does change specific aspects of his tone.

I will agree with you that I would love Gio for PM! Love that guy, his story and his leadership
