If you look at the last 10 teams in the league: MTL, NSH, SJS, PHI, ANA, CBJ, CHI, SEA, DET, PIT. I find it difficult to imagine us out-sucking any of these teams. I mean maybe NSH, PHI, and DET go on a heater and play more up to potential. But also between 11OA and where we currently are, there's also OTT, NYI and BUF.
I look at all those teams below us and compare it to our roster and we are clearly better. We can purge everything at the deadline and we would still probably have accumulated enough points to fall within the 11-16OA range.
At this point, that pick we traded is pretty much sunk cost, and I expect to have two late 1sts (FLA and NJD), plus whatever we can get for our trades this year. It is what it is.
