Agreed. My top targets in the league for young prospects in an Andersson trade would be Iginla, Danielson, Ritchie and Helenius. Of course, there are other top centre prospects that are better than some of those players (Catton for example)… I just hope one of these four players could potentially be available because their teams will have some level of desperation. I think Utah, Detroit and Buffalo are “desperate” to make the playoffs. And I think Colorado is in the phase of doing anything necessary to keep winning cups in their window. Seattle (who has Catton) on the other hand is not as desperate IMO.
In some ways, these other teams need help now more than they need help 2-3 years from now when those prospects could become impact players in the NHL. Highly doubtful these prospects will be available though. They are such valuable prospects that it’s probably a non-starter - even in an Andersson trade.
