I'm reading that as him saying that the OILERS think that they are too skilled to play simple hockey...and he's not wrong in that. The Oilers seem to think that they should just be handed the Cup at the start of the season, that any time McWhiny charges down the ice, the goalie should just get out of the way and let them score. That McBaby should get the 'right of way'.
The Oilers epitomize the "just give it to me" mindset. They don't think that they need to even play simple, basic hockey...they should just be handed it. That's a problem that's plagued them for years...and I love seeing it. Because they get smacked down time and time again as "bottom feeder teams like Calgary", who put in the work, beat them 4-1...
