Was out last night, so I taped the Flames game. I'm watching the first period and I thought it was interesting that there was not a single mention of the EDM-WPG game - no updates, no highlights, nothing, and I figured things must be going very badly for the golden boys. Then about halfway through the 2nd, Stackhouse casually mentions that the Jets are up 5-0, and I laughed. Yup, so predictable - Sportsnet could not bring themselves to even talk about the Oilers being down. Had it been 5-0 Oilers, we would have been subjected to highlights between every whistle.

Some people think that the Sportsnet bias is just our imagination. It is not. Once you see it, and watch for it, it is INCREDIBLY rampant, among every single member of the Sportsnet crew. As I said, I knew the Oilers were getting blown out, simply by the silence, and the muted tones of the panel as they were (remorsefully) discussing the VAN-CGY game.

Please, please Hockey Gods... Please give us a TV contract from someone other than Rogers, for Flames games.

If you find Reddit comments of American fans that were watching a Sportsnet feed, they almost always point this out. Its like an advertisement for the Oilers, even when the Oilers aren't playing.
