On one hand it would be advisable for the Flames to protect their trademark ...but on the other hand, sometimes it opens up a can of worms about your own design inspiration. Not unlike when Ford went after the Calgary Stampeders about their mustang logo...but it turned out there was a college (MSU) that had been using a very similar mustang logo even before Ford did, so theoretically
they could go after Ford's usage. Who knows what kinda logo borrowing or shenanigans happened in the 70s (I would be surprised if Atlanta/Calgary was the first to use a flaming letter in a logo)...it may just be best to let it be. It would probably just make lawyers rich, and give headaches to everyone else.
