Hugely popular in Asia as his was the posterboy for being Western. 'If you're Asian, you know, it's in a lot of cultural lexican, any guy who's a bit too stylish or a bit too western, "who do you think you are? Alain Delon?"
He was also flawed and a bad boy which added to his mystique.
