Red Wings are in a similar situation with Lucas Raymond and Moritz Seider, but I believe the Red Wings have more cap to work with. But that, too, would be one hell of a swindle.

Detroit has $17M in cap space, I doubt they’re stressing.
I don’t think Swayman is in any hurry to sabotage his relationship with the best organization in hockey.
