Well the thing with Crosby is he wants to be elite at everything. It's a will that's often unmatched. So stuff that he wasn't as good at - such as faceoffs - he spent hours working on to get there. He worked on his shot and became the NHL goal-scoring leader. He sat in on PK meetings when he didn't even PK. If he missed a goal he would recreate it until it was second nature to him.
Bedard is a hell of a talent, there's no question. Up to him whether he wants to be an offensive wizard, or an all-around elite player.
