I do agree that hiring based on race or gender is stupid. If that didn't exist we wouldn't need dei programs, would we?
There was a lot of bumbling about during this situation. I didn't notice anyone in particular doing badly but i do know they should not have allowed trump to get up, do a fist pump and walk off the stage. They say the shooter was down at that point but considering that shots were fired before they noticed him they should not have assumed he was safe.

If an employer is hiring based on DEI in any way, the standards have been lowered. DEI prioritizes gender and skin colour over skill, experience, and talent.
In the video, it states that they have a goal of hiring 30% women by 2030, instead of 100% of the best possible agents always.
