Based on what I’ve heard /read this draft is not considered too deep. Apparently there is a cliff at about 12 to 15, depending who you listen to.
It would be great for the Flanes to find another pick in that top 10-15 range. If not, I think you’re likely dealing with a typical bottom of the first round pick, which is fine and valuable but no where near a good shot at a sure-fire NHLer let alone an impact one.

Reading the potential players we can select at 28 compared to 10, there’s not a huge drop off. This isn’t a 2015 draft where there were franchise players in the top 15, this is a draft where it’s like 2014 where your scouts will be heavily relied upon because of how close together the talent level is.
