Yes, there’s urgency for them to make the playoffs next season. But their window is the next 5-6 seasons. They’re not a team desperate for a short-term fix before their window closes in 1-2 seasons.

Been saying this as well for a while. Some suggested the need to win now before the have to pay Hughes and Nemec. Reality is they probably aren't winning the cup before the pay Hughes next summer.
So, what is their window? IMO J Hughes is a steal of a deal and Hischier is too. Hischier likely does not get a huge raise next deal, window should be before Jack hits UFA. IMO that gives them many years to build this team.
